What is a Christening Ceremony
The religious ceremony of baptism is often referred to as a christening. The ceremony acknowledges the person being christened is a child of God, as they are welcomed into the Christian church. Christenings can be done at any age; however infant christenings are more predominant.
Christening ceremonies can vary depending on the denomination followed by the family. Most ceremonies include water baptism. Depending on the denomination, the person being christened may be either sprinkled with water or completely submerged. The person doing the bapitising pronounces the person baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Baptism is an integral part of the Christian religion, with many devout Christians believing that the ceremony itself was created by Jesus Christ.
A christening is a jubilant occasion and one well worthy of celebration. Family and friends are often invited to participate in this memorable event. Incorporating personalised christening invitations is an excellent way to commemorate a child's christening, while providing a unique touch to the celebration of this major milestone.
